Manager of Transportation Appointment 

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Patrick Beaudry has been appointed the position of Manager of Transportation effective June 22, 2026.

Mr. Beaudry has most recently been employed as an Operations Manager for OTH Enterprise/Quesnel Industrial Transportation and has work experience in purchasing and as a transportation coordinator for other companies in the community.

Secretary-Treasurer Appointment 

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Jill McKitrick has been awarded the position of Secretary-Treasurer with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.

Ms. McKitrick is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and has been the Controller for the school district since November 2023.  Previously, Ms. McKitrick worked for West Fraser Mills in various financial leadership roles and as an accountant for KPMG.

The Quesnel Board of Education announced plans for a balanced budget for the 2025/26 fiscal year at the May 14 Regular Board meeting.  The Annual Budget Bylaw is set at $53,025,818.

District Vice-Principal of Early Learning and Child Care Appointment

 

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Shauna Lothrop has been appointed to the position of district vice-principal of early learning and child care effective January 1, 2025.

Ms. Lothrop has been employed at the Quesnel School District since 2002 and has worked as a kindergarten teacher, learning assistance teacher, resource teacher and most recently as an early literacy teacher.

Proposed District Calendar Amendment

The proposed amended School District 28 Calendar for the 2024-2025 school year is  available below. The proposed change moves the April 2025 Professional Development Day to Friday April 11, 2025.  

Comments for consideration regarding the proposed amended calendar may be submitted via email to kathleenroll@sd28.bc.ca, until November 12, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
